In the early 1970's, Peter Fasano graduated as a design student from the Parson's School of Design in Manhattan. He planned on practicing his skills as a design professional, but in 1973, as a member of The Art Students League Of New York, he was encouraged to pursue an interest in painting. Fasano still has his first painting: a piece of canvas that he stapled to the floor, and completed over a two-month period.That painting led him to the realization that repeated patterns were what he found most interesting and fulfilling.
